Trinity Salon | The Only Certified Clean Air Salon in Oregon

Trinity Salon is Setting the Standard for Health & Safety in Salons

Trinity Salon | Newberg Hair Salon is leading the way in salon air quality by becoming the first and only Certified Clean Air Salon in Oregon. We created the Salon Clean Air Network, to set a new standard that ensures a safer environment for both clients and stylists. We believe every salon should prioritize air quality to protect the well-being of everyone who walks through the door.

What is a Clean Air Salon?

A Clean Air Salon is one that meets strict air quality standards to minimize chemical exposure. Salons can be high-risk environments due to airborne chemicals, allergens, and other pollutants. By implementing mechanical air purification systems, we’ve created a space that is comfortable, breathable, and significantly healthier.

How Trinity Salon Ensures Clean Air:

We use a multi-layered approach to keep the air in our salon fresh, pure, and safe:

  • Fresh Air – Constant flow of filtered fresh air to prevent stagnant air

  • Exhaust Vents – Removes stale air and ensures a continuous flow of fresh air

  • Advanced Chemical Filtration – Removes allergens, chemicals, and odors. Our system eliminates up to 350 different possible salon pollutants. (such as Ammonia, Formaldehyde, Benzene...)

  • UV Light Air Purification – Destroys mold, mildew, viruses, and bacteria for a healthier environment.

  • Clean Air Plants – Absorbs carbon dioxide and releases oxygen for additional air purification.

  • Healthier Hair Products – We prioritize non-toxic, clean, and safe hair color options. We have found that their is no perfect hair color, but we have limited our brands that have safer formulations as a way to eliminate chemicals by never bringing them into the salon.

  • No Perms, Nails, or Straightening Treatments – These services release harmful chemicals, so we don’t offer them.

  • No Aerosol Sprays – We exclusively use water-soluble and clean products to maintain air purity.

Why This Matters?

We are the only salon in Oregon to invest in a clean air system like this, and believe this should become an industry-wide requirement. By supporting businesses that prioritize health, you’re advocating for a future where every salon is a safe and healthy space for both clients and stylists.

My Story

My name is Michael, and I’m the owner of Trinity Salon in Newberg, OR. During the buildout of my salon, I encountered a common issue in many modern buildings—poor indoor air quality due to overly tight construction. Its designed to keep everything trapped in and not to let anything out. To create a healthier environment, I had to strip everything down and start fresh. That experience opened my eyes to a widespread problem in salons across the country that most owners are not even aware of.

Before becoming a stylist 10 years ago, I worked in sustainable building design, earning my LEED Accredited Professional certification through the U.S. Green Building Council. Creating healthy spaces was one of the most fulfilling aspects of my previous career, and I'm proud that I can bring that into the salon industry.

This journey of opening Trinity Salon inspired me to develop The Clean Air Salon Network, a program dedicated to educating salon owners on best practices for improving air quality. I’ve recently launched a certification for clean air salons, that uses Trinity Salon as the pilot location. I'm grateful I can redefine what a healthy salon environment should be.
